I always get asked what exactly I do when I’m not mommin, crafting, or lets just be real, binge watching a new series on Netlix… Haha!
Im a Hog Farmin!
What does that means?! … That means that I play a teeny tiny part of FEEDING YOU! Well those of you who like to eat bacon, pork chops, or sausage. lol . For those of you that like to bash farmers… well lets be Real. where do you think the food you eat comes from?!

So I care for 5,000 head of hogs, we have two large barns that they live in. They live in a climate controlled barn with automatic waters and feed. I have two turns of hogs a year, meaning I get babies twice a year and keep them for six months, load those out and then get babies again!
During those 6 months its my job to keep the pigs happy and healthy. BUT that’s the easy part (well I do have some bad days)! I feel like the maintenance of the barns .. water lines, feed lines, the curtains, heaters, feed bins, the farm in general is the hard part. If you have been around farming at all you know that its hard work. You have to have faith, you have to be positive, and you have to be prepared for whatever might come your way!
I started taking pictures of the hogs and posting them on sicial media, and that is actually how Belle of the Barns became a thing. I started this journey with selling the photos I had taken of the farm and then started doing what I have always loved and that was crafting and building. So that is what led to the path I am on now! One of my favorite things about our farm, is being able to work with my hubby! We arnt always there on the same days, but when we are, I love it! Learning to work with one another not only as husband and wife, but as business partners has allowed our marriage to become stronger and has taught us to work as a team!
And what I love most about this life we are living, is being able to raise my kids around the farm. Showing them what hard work looks like and teaching them to appreciate what we work for and the life we have.
